MaSStars Level 4 and 5 Teams are State Champions!

MaSStars compulsory gymnasts finished their outstanding season with several 1st place finishes at the State Championships:

Level 4 gymnast and AA champion Soleil won 1st place in Vault, Beam, and Floor, while teammates Emersen took 1st place in Bars, and Valeria the AA Champion Title.

In addition to an AA Champion title, Level 5 gymnast Sophia took 1st in Floor, Vault, and Bars, while AA Champion Ella took 1st in Beam. L5 teammate Hannah won 1st place in the Beam.

Not to be outdone, the L6 gymnasts took two State Champion Titles: Molly took 1st in Bars, while teammate Fiona took 1st in the Beam competition.

MaSStars Level 9s Shine at Regionals!

MaSStars Brittany D., Lauren R., Danielle A. and Victoria A. competed in the Region 6 Level 9/10 championship at Danvers High School the weekend of April 18-19, 2009. The regional championship meet featured approximately 350 gymnasts from all six New England states and New York.

All four of the L9 gymnasts had outstanding meets, with each qualifying to represent Region 6 in the 2009 Eastern Nationals competition to be held at Bancorp South Arena in Tupelo, Mississippi from May 7-10, 2009.

L9 States: MaSStars take 3rd Place Banner

Six MaSStarsL9 gymnasts competed in the state meet at South High School in Worcester, MA on Saturday March 28. Competing for the MaSStars were Brittany D., Nicole P., Lauren R., Ariana P. (bars only), Danielle A. and Victoria A. Sophia R. and Liz T. were recognized with other L9 graduating seniors during the introductions for the second session.

The MaSStars did a great job at the meet, with Danielle taking first place all around in the 13 and under age group and Brittany taking second place all around in the 17 and older age group. Victoria, Danielle, Lauren, and Brittany all qualified for regionals.

With another outstanding season behind them, the MaSStars celebrated their hard earned successes at the end of year banquet. Graduating seniors Liz and Sophia were honored for their contributions to the team over the years as well as for being exceptional role models for their younger teammates. A number of MaSStars earned Coaches Special Awards.

Parents Judy and Frank T. were celebrated for their longstanding service to the MaSStars and to FOG. Jeff B., George G., and Palissa L. received special awards for their efforts and contributions to the success of FOG.

Congratulations to the MaSStars and their parents for another outstanding season!

Congratulations to all the ghosts, monsters, and witches who participated in this year's Halloween Meet. All gymnasts and teams put in strong performances and are off to a great 2008-2009 season. Special kudos to all the parents who, judging by the fanciful costumes, put in extra effort and imagination into this year's costumes.

In celebration of Waltham Town Day and National Gymnastics Day, the MaSStars proudly carried the team banner and marched in the town parade. Coach Patrick led the team down Main Street to the Waltham Common, where they participated in the day's festivities.

At the End of Year Banquet held this past spring, FOG presented awards to those gymnasts who demonstrated a level of dedication and effort in the 07-08 season worthy of special recognition.
